All I want for Christmas is Sleep!

I love Will.  I love him. I love him. I love him.

But I don’t always have to like him!

I don’t think we have gotten anymore than two nights of sleep in a row since the day this child was born.  This kid wakes up at least 3 nights out of every week.  And I’m not talking about the kind of wake up where you run into his room, pat his back, give him a drink of water and whisper words of comfort then tip toe back into your warm bed and go back to sleep.  No, I’m talking about 3 to 4 hours of screaming.  SCREAMING!

Last night he spent more time between the hours of 2:30 and 5 in the corner than he did in his crib.

Nothing works.  No form of sleep training.  NOTHING.  Some have suggested allergies or asthma which I will question the Dr. about but he is showing no signs in his normal day to day life and the fact that he is happy as a lark if we let him sit on the couch or come into bed with us leads me to believe this is behavioral and not a health related issue.

We are at our wits end.  I’m always cranky.  I’m always tired.  I just want to feel like a human being again!  I am seriously considering reaching out to a sleep expert.

Excuse me while I go and get another cup of coffee!

Has anyone suggested night terrors? Emily was diagnosed with them. I used to get so worried, she would wake up screaming & crying, sometimes thrashing in her crib like something was seriously wrong. It took forever to calm her down. I thought for awhile she was borderline autisticor something, but after several appts. This was the diagnosis. It was awful, but she grew out of them by the time she was 4.

Amy-I’m pretty sure they aren’t night terrors. Sam had them for about 6 months. Will is totally fine if we pick him up. Knows where he is and it totally himself.
