Holiday Cheer is the Best Medicine

After an emotionally and mentally exhausting week I was really looking forward to embracing some time with the family this weekend.

What better way to chase away the ickies then with some Christmas spirit.  So Saturday we headed out to a tree farm to cut down our tree.  We’ve never done this before and we had a blast.  I took tons of pictures and had fun sorting through them to find my favorites.

My serious little boy!

This one of Sam I converted to Black and White and may just be my favorite from today.  Keep scrolling because there is a lot more!

We also took the boys out shopping for a little girl who is less fortunate then them.  Giving is an important lesson that we want them to learn early.

And because they were so generous we took them to the uber light display at one of our local gardens.  They turn the gardens into an amazing walk through light display.  There were lots of “oohs” and “aahhs” from the boys and Sam loved to run under the lights.  He’d hold my hand and pull me along until I was running with him.

It was good for the heart and the soul.  We all collapsed into our beds last night exhausted and happy.  It was a good day!

Today there will be cookies and tree decorating and Christmas carols.  I hope you and yours are able to take some much needed time out from the hustle and bustle of the everyday and spend some time embracing the magic of the season!

Without further delay – I present pictures galore from our trip to the tree farm.
