Today marks the official start to my 2013 Susan G. Komen 3-day journey.
I started my 3-day journey in memory of my mom – I continue it for my kids – so that they never have to walk in memory of someone they love.
There is a long road ahead of me. (Re)training to walk 60 miles in 3 days and raising a minimum of $2300 are daunting goals but ones that I know I can tackle.
Last year I was incredibly blessed to be walking with a fabulous group of women and together we smashed our fundraising goal. In total we raised $19000 and individually, thanks to the generous donations of so many, I raised $5000!
I’m setting out on my own (though I’ve heard that there may be at least a couple of women planning to join me!) I’m nervous. Asking for money a second time around is hard. Facing the time and energy it takes to prepare for the physical challenge is hard. But what’s even harder is fighting breast cancer.
I can do hard things! And I pray that with every step and every dollar we find ourselves closer to a cure. I can do hard things– because the reward is so very worth it!
I hope you will take a few minutes and make a donation. Let’s win this war together! Please visit my 3-day page by clicking here. s
