How can it be?! Today you turn two!
I can’t believe it. It feels like you were just born yesterday and at the same time like you’ve been in my life for as long as I can remember.
You have grown so much this past year. Always trying to keep up with big brother you do everything faster then Sam ever did. You are so eager to rush ahead and be one of the big boys. And there’s no point in holding you back – you’ll hear nothing of it!
Sometimes I wonder if you are growing up too fast. If you’ve leaped right over being a baby as your brother tugs you into childhood. But then you cry for me to hold you or curl up next to your Dad and all I can see is the sweet little toddler you are.
You, my son have a very serious side. Your pout is your signature expression. And while I should either be consoling you or reprimanding you when you purse those lips and furrow that brow all I can think about is just how beautiful you are.
You’ve started talking. Really talking! It’s like you realized that if you could figure out how to use words Sam wouldn’t get to make all the decisions around here. You love your brother so much. You are his little shadow and imitate anything he is doing. But you also push against him when you need your space or want to do something on your own. I think this will be something you and your brother encounter throughout your life. I am so glad you have each other.
You bring sunshine to my life and fill my heart with so much love and joy, more than I ever thought I could feel. I am so very blessed to be your mom and cannot wait to see where your journey takes you.
